Quite often when I go out to play I see a lot of golfers struggling with a nasty pull or even a pull hook. The pull and the pull hook are caused by the golf club coming over the top, that is, the club traveling from outside to inside the intended swing path.
If you pull or pull hook the ball here is an excellent drill to help break the habit. Put a tee in the ground approximately six inches outside the ball and one foot in front of the ball. When you swing through the golf ball to your finish position, try to get your club head to travel out and over the tee you placed in the ground. This will give you the proper mental image of the golf club traveling through impact from an inside path rather than an outside path.
If you have trouble pulling or pull hooking your shots, try this drill and you will begin to feel the proper path in which the club should travel during your swing and subsequently get rid of your pulls.
Good golfing and see you at the course.
